Introduction
Rather than chasing each invoice manually, you can create rules to chase customers automatically based on a number of different criteria, including the amount owed, the length of time overdue, how close to a credit limit the customer is and so on.
Applies to
Credit Hound, Credit Hound Express for Sage 50
Process
In the Credit Hound main application, select Tools>Rules. Select an existing rule and edit its criteria so that the rule captures the transactions or accounts that you are interested in.
Next set the action to how you wish Credit Hound to treat the accounts or transactions found by the criteria, this can involve setting accounts into categories or groups, or writing letters to those accounts.
Typically you will have a set of rules that send letters of increasing severity, starting with a gentle reminder and culminating in a threat of legal action. To run an automatic chasing rule , simply click run in the rules window.
Please note: You should always run the rules in order from most to least severe, by doing tis you will ensure that any account which meets the criteria for more than one level of severity is sent the more severe letter.
Self-Chasing
If Self Chasing is enabled for the user, via Credit Hound Manager>Setup>Self Chasing>Enable Self Chasing for this Windows user, then a sequence of rules can be created that will run in turn, according to a user-defined schedule.
