Introduction

The Spindle Document Management installer will add three new printers to the Windows environment. In certain circumstances, however, these may be removed or otherwise not installed. Instead of re-installing the whole of the Spindle Document Distribution you can use the individual installers provided to add/remove the printers one by one.

Method

Navigate to the Drivers folder in the SDM Program Files folder:

Please note: The name of the installer file in the screenshot will differ depending on the version of the software.

In Windows 7 or 2008 R2 you can simply double click the appropriate installer to add the printer.

If using Windows 8 / 2012 and above, you must use the command prompt to install the drivers.

1) Open the command prompt as an Administrator.

2) Using the command CD, navigate to the Drivers directory inside the Program Files (x86) directory

3) Run the commands in turn for each printer (Spindle Pro, Spindle Pro Auto, Spindle Pro Form Creator):

SPAInstallerV700_x64.exe /INSTDIR:"path_to_inst_dir" /ACTION:INSTALL /PAPERSIZE:A4

Flag to set the path for the installed files - this should be one of the folders visible in the image above (Spindle Pro, Spindle Pro Auto etc) as follows:

Spindle Pro	C:\Program Files (x86)\Draycir\Spindle Printer Drivers\Main
Spindle Pro Auto	C:\Program Files (x86)\Draycir\Spindle Printer Drivers\Auto
Spindle Pro Form Creator	C:\Program Files (x86)\Draycir\Spindle Printer Drivers\Form

(assumes x64 Windows and install to C:\ Drive)

This sets the action to be performed (if required there is a companion Uninstall switch)

This switch is only required if you are installing the drivers for SDM v7.3 and later.

Repeat for each Printer to be installed., stopping the Spindle Pro Printer Agent service between each install if errors occur.
