Introduction

In 2024 Microsoft introduced a new Outlook Client application, which is available to Office 365 customers as an option, but will become the default in 2025. This new client application is not compatible with the two Outlook Email connectors in Spindle Document Distribution.

Recommendations

As this change affects Office 365 customers, Draycir recommends that these users switch to using the dedicated Microsoft Exchange connector in Spindle Document Distribution instead of either Outlook connectors. The new Outlook client is being delivered to Office 365 customers who will, by definition, have an Exchange 365 account.

Reminder: Using the new Outlook client with Spindle Document Distribution configured to use the Microsoft Exchange connector is fully supported.
