KBA-01-02-002 - Using RDO Mode In Spindle

Modified on Fri, 8 Oct, 2021 at 8:51 AM

Introduction

When Spindle Professional/Document Distribution is trying to distribute documents by email, a window will pop up warning you the server is busy. This is a common warning message when Spindle is set to use either the Outlook connector or Legacy Outlook Connector. One suspected root cause for this is a contention with Sage Add-Ons or Outlook processing emails while Spindle is trying to send out emails.

Versions Applicable

  • Spindle Professional 6
  • Spindle Document Management
  • Spindle Document Distribution

Solution

A registry key needs to be added to the current user hive in the registry. This key will enable 'RDO mode'.

1. Open up Registry Editor (Start > regedit)

2. Navigate to the following Path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Draycir\Spindle Professional\Generic\Distribution\Devices\3BE7BB6C-B54C-4950-B33D-92276CFAF398

or

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Draycir\Spindle Document Distribution\Generic\Distribution\Devices\3be7bb6c-b54c-4950-b33d-92276cfaf398

(depending on version)

3. Add a DWORD (32-Bit) Value. Rename the DWORD to Enable RDO Mode. Change the item value to 1.

5. Exit the Registry Editor and re-run the print job.
