Introduction

In some instances when a ungraceful install of Spindle Document Management when an installation has not correctly installed there maybe Registry keys which remain. The outcome will be any upgrade that takes place will error out

Applies to

 v7.01 and v7.02, V7.04. 

Issue

During installation of Spindle Document Distribution on Windows Server 2012 or Server 2012 R2, you may see the following error, 

The error is caused by Spindle or SDM registry keys still being present on the server or the local machine

Resolution

Recommend using the following tool to remove all traces of the previous install before re-installing SDM
