KBA-01-03-052 - Ending the Spindle Monitor Process

Introduction

When using Spindle Document Distribution, there may be an instance where the Spindle Monitor Process needs to be restarted.

This can be requested by members of our support team for some of the below reasons:

  • The process has been running for a long period of time and needs to be restarted.
  • In versions of Spindle Document Management using a subscription licence, you may see the error code 1004, indicating the licence is invalid.
  • There is a fault with the current monitor process that is running.

Resolution

The process can be ended by fully signing out of the device with Spindle Document Distribution or Spindle Document Management installed, or by restarting the device.


It can also be ended via the Task Manager:

In the Processes section, is it visible as Spindle Monitor Application (32-bit).

In the Details section, it is visible as SpindleDocDistributionMonitor.exe.
