Introduction

When archiving into SDC using Spindle Professional, the processor window displays the following errors:

  • Failed to read metadata template
  • Failed to get template from SDC Server
  • Failed to load SDC archive record

These errors are typically associated with the SDC service not running, failing to start or the client failing to interface with the server.


Versions Applicable

  • Spindle Professional 6
  • Spindle Document Capture 1.5 and newer
  • Spindle Document Management

Resolution

1. Open Server Adminstration on the server

2. Click on Manage Service

3. Stop the service

4. Restart the service


If the default password has been changed for the SDCServiceUser, re-enter the credentials in Services.msc.

1. Open Server Adminstration on the server

2. Click on Manage Service

3. Stop the service

4. Run Services.msc

5. Right-click on Spindle Document Capture and Spindle Document Capture Mobile services and select Properties

6. Click on Properties tab and re-enter the password

7. In Server Adminstration > Manage Service, Start the services
