IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR USERS OF
- Spindle Document Management v7, v8.0-8.14
- Spindle Document Distribution v8.0-8.14
- Spindle Professional v6
using the MS Exchange 365 device to distribute documents via email.
As of 1st October 2022 Microsoft is progressively disabling Basic Authentication for connections to Exchange 365 (aka single-factor authentication).
If you are using Exchange 365 in any of the above versions we strongly recommend upgrading to the current release of Spindle Document Management or Spindle Document Distribution. Please contact your Draycir partner to arrange an upgrade.
Am I affected by this?
The simple test is to open Spindle Document Distribution Tools and navigate to User Settings>Email Settings
Q: Is the Default Distribution set to Exchange/Office 365?
If not, you are not affected.
If so, click Setup:
Q: Do you see an option to 'use Microsoft account'?
If so, you are not affected.
If you do not see this option you must upgrade.
