KBA-01-03-040 - Error #1058 When Installing Spindle Document Distribution Printer Drivers

Introduction

When the Spindle Printer Drivers are being installed as part of the software package, you may encounter the below error message:



Error #1058

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.


This issue can occur when the Print Spooler Windows service is not running at the time of installation. The Spindle Pro Printer Agent service created by the installer relies on the Print Spooler to work. If this service is not running, the installer cannot create the Printer Agent service.

Resolution 

Please confirm if the Print Spooler service is not running and restart it. After this, please restart the installer.
